The leadership of Vision Baptist Missions is always looking for ways to honor missionaries. Of course, we all love our missionaries, but many times when a missionary family reached the field it becomes a lone place. We want to make sure that missionaries with our team that are faithful and diligent in their work do not go unrecognized in their ministries. The following is a couple of ways that we honor them.

An Arrow

We give each of our missionaries that we commission to start deputation an arrow. This arrow represents our joy in sending them to go and do the work. Deputation or the process of raising support can feel somewhat long and tedious. We seek to encourage them in that process to be diligent and persistent.

"And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed." 2 Kings 13:18

A Sword

For any of our missionary team that has finished deputation and are headed to the field, we give them a sword. We know that the process of getting to the field can be difficult. However, we also know that the work is just beginning. We take this time as an opportunity to praise the Lord for the providing of support and to encourage them in the ministry to come.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

A Ring

Vision Baptist Missions prays that every missionary on our team will be able, Lord-willing, to spend their life on the field serving the Lord. We do realize that this may be the exception rather than the rule. We wish to honor veteran missionaries on our team who have planted a church and turned it over to a national pastor with a ring. This is just our way of giving a visible gift that recognizes that man of God as an example that we wish to emulate.

"For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." Romans 14:7-8

Our Covenant

We covenant together and commit to
Be true to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Give our lives to send the good news of salvation to the world through our going, giving, praying, and training others to do the same
Plant indigenous local churches wherever God puts us
Train national leaders and turn the work over to them
To train, equip, and send national workers to do the work around the world
To motivate, encourage, equip others to do the work of God around the world

Our Motto

I have but one passion--it is He, it is He alone. The world is the field and the field is the world; and henceforth that country will be my home where I can be most used in winning souls for Christ. - Count Zinzendorf
