Why Africa?

Missionaries in Africa ministered to a teenage girl who was dealing with bitterness toward her father because he stabbed her mother to death.  In the same group of young people, there is a teenage boy who was thankful that his bitterness was taken away.  He no longer hated and wanted to kill the gang his father was a part of that poisoned and strangled his mother.

Africa is a continent of more than 1.4 billion.  I think we may be asking the wrong question.  Why Africa?  Why not Africa?

Stories of death and murder are not an unusual thing in this vast continent.  Families are torn apart because of sin, war, sickness, and death.  It’s not unusual at all for a child born in Africa to grow up without one of his parents and many times without any parent in his life.

What is unusual is for young people to be freed from the slavery of bitterness in spite of the atrocities they face.  As they come to know Jesus, they are able to forgive.

We need more laborers willing to come share the bondage-freeing message of Jesus to the millions of others who don’t know about Him.

With the majority of countries having full access to preach the Gospel, the question “Why not Africa?” Needs to be contemplated!

My wife and I have served as church-planting missionaries to Africa since 2013. The doors are wide open for the majority of Africa, and we believe the fields are white already to harvest.

We’d love to talk with you about whether African missions might be God’s plan for your life. Please contact me at any time.
